Congratulations on the 50th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Malaysia and China. 

Putrajaya, 19th - Malaysia and China signed 14 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements today. These include an intention letter for visa exemption between Malaysia and China, a housing cooperation agreement, and a protocol on phytosanitary requirements for the export of fresh durians to China. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar and China's Premier Li Qiang jointly witnessed the signing of these MoUs and agreements following their meeting today.

Fourteen MOUs/MOAs exchanged between M'sia and China

A total of 14 memorandum of understandings, agreements (MoUs/MoAs), protocol and joint statement involving nine ministries were exchanged between Malaysia and China on Wednesday (June 19), witnessed by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and China Premier Li Qiang. The documents were exchanged during Li’s official visit to Malaysia, which also marked his first visit to the country as premier, in conjunction with the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar and Chinese Premier Li Qiang jointly witnessed the signing of these Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements following their meeting today.

The signing ceremony took place on June 19th at 11 a.m. at the Prime Minister's Office in Putrajaya, with Malaysian Cabinet Ministers and their Chinese counterparts representing both countries in signing the MoUs.

The Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, and the Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia, Ouyang Yujing, represented the General Administration of Customs of China in exchanging the agreement.

Regarding the export of fresh durians to China, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu and Ambassador Ouyang Yujing exchanged the protocol on behalf of the General Administration of Customs of China. This means that starting this year, Malaysian durian growers can directly export fresh durians to China. The protocol outlines the preventive measures that farms and packing facilities intending to export fresh durians to China must take and specifies the role of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security as the plant quarantine authority. By signing the agreement, Malaysia and China have allowed the General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) to grant Malaysia permission to export fresh durians to China under the stipulated conditions.

Other ministries involved in signing and exchanging MoUs include the Ministry of International Trade and Industry, Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Local Government Development, Ministry of Higher Education, Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ministry of Communications, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture.

The areas of cooperation include the prevention of transnational crime, visas, the digital economy, green development, tourism, housing and urban development, higher education, and technology.

这项备忘录签署仪式是于19号6月上午11时许,在布城首相办公室举行,由大马内阁部长和中方部长分别代表两国签下备忘录。

农业及粮食安全部长拿督斯里莫哈末沙布和中国驻马大使欧阳玉靖代表中国海关总署,交换协定书。

至于新鲜榴梿出口至中国方面,则有农业及粮食安全部长拿督斯里莫哈末沙布和中国驻马大使欧阳玉靖代表中国海关总署,交换协定书。

这也意味著,今年开始,我国榴梿种植业者可直接将新鲜榴梿出口至中国。议定书的内容规定有意向中国出口新鲜榴梿的农场和包装厂应采取的预防措施,并明确阐明农业和食品安全部作为植物检疫主管机关的角色。马中两国通过签署协议,以让中国海关总署(GACC)授予马来西亚依照议定书规定的条件,向中国出口新鲜榴梿
